In the automotive sector, around 3,500 employees are engaged in production supplies and internal factory logistics for big carmakers at 19 locations in five countries.
At JadeWeserPort, Imperial Automotive Logistics GmbH operates the new packaging centre for the Volkswagen Group. The centre supplies around 7000 different components to 30 factories in 13 countries run by Audi, Volkswagen and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. When running at full capacity, the packaging centre can handle around 3.2 million packages a year, which are loaded into around 11,000 40‘ high cube containers for transport by sea.
